ryan is human, i’m sure of it

this is a pointless little story that won’t win any awards or buy you a new car or or get you a boyfriend or a girlfriend. it’s just a story about our cat ryan. he has a peeing issue and so he stays on one side of the house in the mudroom but he CAN go outside. anyway, the amazing thing about him — one of many — is that he can sense when i have cracked open a window just a smidgeon on my side, the opposite side, of the house. literally. a smidgeon. do you know how small a smidgeon is? it’s….. like….super duper small. so yeah he can sense it and he will traipse all the way over to the roof and sit there whining to come in. i don’t know how he hears it. it’s completely out of (human) earshot and i really think cat earshot too. but it’s like he has some spider sense that tells him. it’s like his whiskers sense a breeze that wasn’t there before or his nose smells a slightly different odor in the air. maybe it’s the smell of my dirty socks wafting out the window, who knows but he knows. and he comes… to meowwwwwwwww
